This was the third Showcase Showdown used on the original UK version of The Price is Right. This Showcase Showdown was unique, because this game was played after all six pricing games were played instead of the traditional three.
In this Showcase Showdown, all six contestants, all of whom have won their way up on stage to play a pricing game played an elimination round for the right to go to the Showcase round.
Host Leslie Crowther asked four price estimation questions one at a time. These are based on government surveys & average. Each contestant wrote down their answers in pounds only on paper and showed them to Leslie when they were finished. Originally, the contestants' answer can be no more than four digits, but the maximum was upped to five digits. The player who missed the farthest was eliminated. The process continued for three more questions until there were two contestants left standing; those two contestants advanced to the Showcase game.
