Eugene Edward "Gene" Wood (b. October 20, 1925 – d. May 21, 2004) was an announcer on many of Mark Goodson's and Bill Todman's shows, and he also served as a host on several such others as Beat The Clock. When he retired from game shows in 1996, he provided voice-overs for the Game Show Network until 1998. He became a guest announcer for The Price is Right in November of 1985 after Johnny Olson's death; eventually, Rod Roddy succeeded him.

Trivia[]

In 1994, he also became the announcer for the unsold lottery-themed game show pilot called Cash Tornado hosted by the late Jim Perry. This also used the set and theme song from the short-lived 1994-95 syndicated version of The Price is Right.
