Tandra Cromer

Tandra Cromer (born January 11, 1971 in Bedford, Texas) is an former American Model and former Cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys Football Team. In 1994, she appeared as a Barker's Beauty on The Price is Right courtesy of a local contest she entered and won.

Early Career[]

Native of Bedford, Texas. Tandra is perhaps more known for her background in Cheerleading. She worked in the Dallas Cowboys sales and promotion office in addition to her work as a cheerleader. As a cheerleader, she helped cheer the Dallas Cowboys to not one but two Super Bowl championships. She cheered for the Dallas Cowboys for five years.

"Price is Right" audition[]

In March 1994, Cromer entered a local contest which was for the television game show The Price is Right during its 22nd season on the air and "Barker's Beauties Month". The show, since October of 1993, has been auditioning various models to permanently replace 18-year veteran Dian Parkinson, who departed the series back in June.

In Dallas, one of four cities the contest was ran, Tandra was the chosen winner of the "Barker's Beauties Month" contest, beating out nearly 750 women as she was then flown to Los Angeles to prepare for the new gig.

Along with Tandra, the other three winners of the contest were Melissa Cortez of Los Angeles, Michelle Hunter of Detroit, and Lisa Lopez of Miami (with Melissa already in Los Angeles and Michelle & Lisa flown to LA) as they each appeared as Barker's Beauties for one week during "Barker's Beauties Month".

The ladies have also appeared with host Bob Barker & model Holly Hallstrom on Vicki Lawrence's talk show Vicki! to discuss their experiences of being a Barker's Beauty on The Price is Right (Tandra, Melissa & Michelle had already taped their weeks of shows while Lisa was scheduled to tape her week of shows the week after this talk show appearance) and their hopes for the future. During the taping of Tandra's very first show (as she explained), everything came to a screeching halt as everyone in the studio had to evacuate the building due to a possible bomb scare as a suspicious package was found outside CBS Television City. The taping was finally able to resume an hour and a half later after....

Unfortunately, none of these ladies from the contest were chosen as the permanent Barker's Beauty as Duluth, Minnesota native Gena Lee Nolin, who made her tryout debut on (airdate) May 3, 1994, was the one chosen as the permanent replacement as host Bob Barker made the official announcement on the show's 23rd Season Premiere episode (airdate: September 12, 1994).
