Sharon Friem

Sharon Friem was editorial consultant on the television game show The Price is Right, beginning in the early 1980s. She has also appeared as a substitute Barker's Beauty for one episode (airdate: April 20, 1994) during the show's then-22nd season and during model tryouts. She also appears on the box cover of The Price is Right PC game for the DOS and Commodore 64, released publicly in 1990 by the now-defunct gaming company GameTek.

Sharon was also a question researcher on the game show Now You See It.

In 2000, Friem was dismissed from her duties on the show. She wasn't the only one terminated that day, longtime models Janice Pennington (since it's September 4, 1972 debut) and Kathleen Bradley (since December 1990) were also dismissed (speculation was their refusal to testify against ex-Barker's Beauty Holly Hallstrom after she was dismissed back in October 1995) as their on-camera final appearances aired on December 13th. Production assistants Linda Riegert and Sherrill Paris and director Paul Alter were also terminated.

After they were dismissed from the series, Kathleen and Janice sued for wrongful termination and later settled out of court for undisclosed amounts. Sherrill Paris and Linda Riegert also filed sued against Bob Barker for wrongful termination. Sharon also sued for wrongful termination as well as sexual harassment as she revealed in her court claims that she became a target of inappropriate sexual remarks and gestures. Some time later, Friem and Paris both (like Pennington and Bradley) received financial settlements to drop their lawsuits against Barker. For Linda Riegert, her case was rumored to have had the same outcome as the others. (Sharon, Sherrill and Linda were all interviewed for The E! For director Paul Alter however, he was able to briefly regain his position and employment on The Price is Right in early 2001, where he remained until his retirement.
